Fun - Play - Connect
The Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS), Centre for Sports and Exercise (CSE), and University Health Service (UHS) at HKU jointly organised a Staff-Student Sports & Wellness Gala on 26 February 2024. The event aimed to promote physical and mental well-being, inclusivity, and community building among staff and students from various faculties.
The gala was a resounding success, with participants from all HKU faculties and departments joining in the afternoon of sports, camaraderie, and community building.
The Active Obstacle Challenge was a highlight of the event, where a three-person team physical activity and skill challenge pushed staff and students to work together in completing a series of physical activity challenges as fast as possible.
For those interested in sports and games, a variety of newly emerging sport games were offered, including Spikeball, Dodgebee, Rope Flow, Mölkky and Pétanque. These sports provided new and innovative ways to stay active and healthy.
In addition to the physical activities, a wide range of booths were set up promoting and educating attendees on various health and wellness topics, helping them to gather valuable information to enhance their well-being.
The Staff-Student Sports & Wellness Gala provided an amazing opportunity for staff and students to connect, creating a sense of togetherness and inclusivity. The event successfully promoted physical and mental well-being, encouraging participants to embrace a healthier and more active lifestyle.
